Phoenix, Arizona - Spring Break 2010

We spent Spring Break down in Arizona (technically Sun Lakes - outside Phoenix) with Nana and Papa. The weather was phenomenal with temperatures between 70 and 80 all week. On Easter Sunday we attended church with Bob and Betty Dunn. Caleb hunted for eggs before the service. There were peanut butter m&m's in some of them so, of course, mommy and daddy took care of those. Caleb went gladly off to Sunday School 'cause he knew he'd get to play with Betty! We spent most of the week reading, relaxing, playing cards, golfing and taking Caleb to the pool. We did venture out one day to the Phoenix Zoo. We ALL loved the zoo! It was a great zoo but I suspect the reason we loved it so much was that the weather was just perfect!!! It's so much easier to enjoy your day outside when it isn't pouring down rain!!! We saw elephants, Komodo Dragons, spider monkeys, wallabys, giraffes, a tiger and more! Caleb also gashed his head open on the sidewalk at the end of our trip. Luckily, Uncle T said he shouldn't need stitches and it is healing nicely. We took a ton of pictures... here are some of my favorite ones. Caleb finally fell asleep on the plane on our way to Phoenix...for the last 20 minutes of the flight!! An easter carrot - filled with jelly beans!!! Easter Egg Hunt at the church on Easter morning Coronamobile...classy work, Papa!!! Kev's favorite picture of the vacation- catching Caleb mid-drool. He was sucking on ice cubes and then spitting them back into the tub that was keeping the sodas and beer cold! Yuck! But it kept him entertained for about an hour. "I want that piece! The nose of the bunny." Of course, he wants the center of Nana's bunny cake as his piece! Caleb and mommy Swimming with Papa Playing with Nana Twins? Twins, again? Wallaby babies...Kevin and Caleb

Kissing a crocodile (statue, that is).
Pretending to be a goat..."maaa, maaaa" All signs now say "Don't feed the ducks!" We wandered down to the pond at Sun Lakes to feed the ducks on our first evening in Arizona. Once we got there we read the sign warning us not to feed the ducks. So, from then on, every sign Caleb "read" said "Don't feed the ducks!" This boy is all smiles whenever he gets to play in the water. The Phoenix Zoo had great water features for kids to play in! Riding a Komodo Dragon
Caleb and Verena (Bob and Betty's "adopted" granddaughter) watching the gibbons.
Prepping to go on the PGA Tour. The same evening he smashed his forehead on the sidewalk, he also bit open his lip. A bloody mess! Nana and Papa playing tennis
Ready for retirement!

Missie! What a great and fun looking Spring Break. I LOVE Arizona... we lived there for a few years, and some of my best memories are there. And I LOVE the zoo there too. Oh, and by the way, you look GREAT. I love your belly! Kendra

Thanks for sharing such great pictures--I'm so jealous of your wonderful trip! Your "twins" look so cute together! Just think, soon it will be "triplets!" You and Jeff can commiserate what it's like to be so outnumbered in your own family...
