SUNRIVER, OREGON

We just returned from our Rus family vacation in Sunriver. Grandma and Grandpa Rus, Russ and Sheila, Eric and Emily, Uncle Aaron, Kevin, Caleb and I rented a BIG house together for the last week of June. It was my first trip to Sunriver... but I hope not the last. We had a BLAST!! The weather was balmy and perfect the whole time. It would cool off in the evenings. We swam, biked, walked, played at the park, ran (well, I ran), hot tubbed and watched Grandma play tennis. We also played poker, Texas Hold 'Em and Left, Right, Center. Aaron, Eric, Kevin and I jumped off a bridge into FREEZING water on Friday evening while Emily (wisely) stayed ashore to videotape us. Kevin, Aaron and I met up with Scott and Jenn Collins and Dan and Cindy Martin in Bend for a night on the town. They just happened to be vacationing with their family in the Bend area the same week we were. We all had a fun, relaxing week and can't wait to go back.

Last Day of School

Kevin finished up his school year today. He is relieved to be done and to get a chance to relax for a bit. He played 9 holes of golf out at Scott Lake with the teachers from North Thurston HS. He'll start teaching summer school when we return from our vacation to Sunriver on June 30th.

Eric Fode Graduates

Eric graduated from Wenatchee High School on Friday, June 13, 2008. He is off to college at Whitworth in Spokane. We drove over to Wenatchee for the weekend to go to the graduation and his graduation party. Caleb's favorite part of the weekend was playing in the Fode's huge yard and getting muddy. He played so hard that he looked exhausted pretty much the entire time we were there.

Celebrity Softball Game

Kevin, Aaron and I went to the 1st Annual Bobby Engram Celebrity Softball Game and Home Run Derby today at Bucknell Park in Lacey. The weather was cold and we waited in line FOREVER to get autographs. Eventually we were able to get a few autographs (during the game) from Marcus Trufant, Lofa Tatupu (he signed a blown up picture of our Christmas card which we framed) and a few other Seahawks players. Fueled with a few hot cocoas we were warm enough to stay through the homerun derby. Caleb went to Grandma and Grandpa Rus' house to spend the day.
