Westport weekend

Nana and Papa rented a condo at Westport for the weekend in late August. The weather was beyond incredible... who ever heard of blue skies and sunshine on the Washington coast? We spent lots of time on the beach building sandcastles and collecting rocks. The Collins family happened to be there too... what a funny coincidence! This is the 2nd vacation that we've ended up in the same place without knowing it (last year they were at SunRiver the same week we were too!!) Uncle T and Nana spent the day on Saturday fishing for salmon on the 'GoldRush'. They had gorgeous weather too and brought us home some dinner. Uncle T and Anna camped out at a nearby State Park. We met up with them for S'mores on our last night. Sandcastles Playing in the sand with the "boys" - Papa, Scott, daddy & Caleb Happy Rus Bunch Making sandcastles Kev with the kite that was too complicated for any of us to get flying Scott, Jenn and Anna just happened to be staying at the same place we were!!! Caleb on the beach feeling the sand with his toes Nana and Uncle T's boat - they spent the day salmon fishing! Nana is happy because she didn't get sick at all on the boat... and she caught us dinner! Showing off their fish Picking flowers on our walk Looking grumpy... but having fun on his favorite bike - the "wheel bike" that he got from Grammy and Pop on his 2nd birthday Going for a walk and a bike ride along the beach path Worn out from all the fun! Mommy and Caleb on the beach Caleb's first S'more... as he would say it was "dee-wishous" The S'more was "dee-wishous" AND a HUGE mess!!! Feeding Indy some S'more Exploring at Uncle T's campsite

Mommy and baby horsie

Caleb showing his mommy and baby horsies. Whenever he has a stuffed animal he always wants to know where its mommy is. We got the little horse in his first Happy Meal and I discovered the big horse (its mommy) in with his stuffed animals. Happy boy!

Words to Remember...

I thought I should write down some of the funny things Caleb's says right now... so we don't forget.

Often he will fake burp and then always says "skoo ski" (excuse me) He will even say this for daddy when he forgets to excuse himself after a burp!
Caleb has yet to master the word popsicle - instead he puts in one extra syllable so it sounds more like "pop-op-sicle".
When Caleb is delaying bedtime, hurts himself or wants to snuggle he asks us to "holdy", which I cannot resist!! He isn't much of a snuggler so I take my chances when they are offered!
Last Wednesday night Kev, Caleb and I were riding home from Aunt Connie's birthday dinner at El Sarape (where else?!?!) and I decided to ask Caleb if he knew how to spell "stop". I asked, he paused and then said S-T-O-P spells "stop" Seriously, Kevin and I were amazed!!! He should be reading Moby Dick within the next 6 months!!! :)
Caleb says "waterfeel" for waterfall; "suck skin" for construction vehicles and "mega moser" when he sees a motorcycle.
