We headed over to Moses Lake today to attend Casey Garcia's memorial service. He was killed in his plane while crop dusting last week. His service was very crowded. He was well loved. To my amazement Lisa got up and spoke. She let us all know that she would need our love and support over the days, weeks, months and years to follow BUT she also told us that her faith was stronger than ever! It was beautiful! God's presence was strong and undeniable at the service! We ended up staying an entire week as Kelly & Barry needed to fly out on Monday morning to attend Casey's memorial service in South Dakota (where the Garcia's had been living for a year) with Lisa and the kids. We spent a busy week entertaining 4 boys with a trip to the Aquatic Center, the BMX track and even Chelan!!

Friendly Grove

We spent a few hours today at Friendly Grove Park. Margaret and Caroline were with us and we met Brody there.

Father's Day

Kev being the awesome dad and husband that he is let ME sleep in this morning. So much so that I was running from the moment my feet hit the floor to get to church on time. Kevin and I both served at church - he taught the 4th and 5th graders and I was in the nursery. After church I had a four hour shift at Capital Perks so Kev had the boys for lunch and Eli's nap. Once I got off work we went to Larry & Judy's for a steak dinner. It was a little chilly but we ate outside anyway. Thanks to Judy's outdoor heater we all stayed nice and warm! Kinda a busy crazy Father's Day but I hope that Kevin understands how much we love and appreciate the WONDERFUL dad that he is!!!

Making pancakes

Caleb is really into berry pancakes lately. This morning he made them all by himself...and daddy cooked them for him. We then brought them over to Nana and Papa's house to share them for breakfast.

Busy Saturday

Slide in one of the bounce houses at the air show Silly grins Aloha! Check out Caleb's cowboy boots! :) Daddy and Eli. Kev was worn out from hauling Eli around in the backpack. Caleb and Uncle T in a helicopter. We were supposed to have family pictures taken this morning over at Larry and Judy's house but it was RAINING. We went over to the Rus House anyway to have breakfast together. After breakfast Caleb and Uncle T headed to Top Foods to help Fill the Boot for Muscular Dystrophy. After lunch they decided to meet Kevin and Eli at the airshow in Tumwater. They saw a helicopter lift and then drop a car. Caleb was afraid they were going to get our car next since his dad and Uncle told him that that is what they did to cars parked in the wrong spot!!! Kev got some great pics!! After the air show the boys came to visit me at work and got some delicious raspberry/strawberry milkshakes. After work I picked Caleb up and we went to Dakota's graduation party. We had some yummy snacks at the party...including BLUE cotton candy! YUM! We also enjoyed watching Dakota's friends "sumo" wrestle in the costumes that Malissa and Nathan rented...hilarious!!!

Eli has a new grumpy/funny face these days. He is now 10 months old!

Beach Day

Today was Beach Day at preschool. It is the second to last day of school and still quite chilly out so we had to do a little layering for the beach today.

Sun River

The day before our Sun River trip I got sick. I figured it was just a one day thing and I could power through it so we headed down to Sun River Thursday evening after Daphne got off work. We arrived just a bit before midnight and tucked the kids in. I headed to bed while Josh, Daphne and Kevin unpacked the van. I never really got better and Eli joined in the fun with a fever one of the days BUT we had fun. Sun River is just the perfect place for a family vacation! Caleb and Kev had a wonderful time riding bikes, playing at the park and swimming! We rented a house from one of the families Daphne used to nanny for. It had three bedrooms, two baths, a hot tub and access to Maverick's (the local health club). We headed to Maverick's the first morning so the kids could swim. On Saturday I decided I was feeling well enough to venture out so our family went to the Nature Observancy while the Reaves family took a nap. Caleb had a great time doing a scavenger hunt on the nature trail and then trying to guess which poop belonged to which animal at the nature center afterwards! Our last day morning was spent riding bikes. Kev and Caleb explored all over the place. They went to the stables to see horses, saw some deer on the path and even a coyote hunting for its lunch! A busy morning! After an attepmt at a nap (neither of my kids wanted to have one!) we packed up and headed into the village at Sun River. There Coen and Caleb bounced in bounce houses and then we all went for icecream at Goody's. It was great to spend time with good friends but I was glad to be heading home to get some much needed rest. Arriving at the Nature Obsevancy.
