Another tooth!

Eli's second tooth came in today! Now he has his two bottom teeth.

Swimming with Papa

Caleb has been going swimming with Papa at The Valley since he was a little guy. He has turned into quite an amazing little swimmer. He still prefers to wear his arm floaties but is getting used to swimming on his own.

Snowboy!!

Caleb and Eli spent a few hours with Nana and Papa this snowy morning. Caleb and Papa went outside to build a snowman before the snow melted away. I especially like the hat! Nice touch!

Moses Lake

Mom and Dad took the boys and me to Moses Lake to visit the Wemps this weekend. The weather was beautifully sunny and cold. We got to go to church, out for lunch and see Auntie Kelly's new Ford Flex. The boys and Poppy went fishing several times. And we made gingerbread cookies with Grammy. Kevin stayed home and got some odd jobs done around the house. I especially LOVE my newly painted kitchen!!! Thanks Kev!

The Fishermen. Poppy took Seth, Ezra and Caleb fishing several times this weekend. They all love it - especially Ezra. He starts asking to go with Poppy as soon as he wakes up. Poppy says he is a natural at fishing.

I love how much they enjoy just being together...especially with the age difference between them! What a blessing!

Meet Jacob...

Caleb has had this blue crab since he was a baby but just recently named him "Jacob".

"Experting"

On and off recently Caleb will tell me that he has or is "experting" something. I have asked him what he meant but still wasn't quite sure until today. What he means is ORGANIZING something. For example, if he was stacking a pile of books he would tell me that he was "experting" them!!! :) Obviously, I will continue to encourage him to "expert" whenever he wants!! In fact, we desperately need to "expert" his bedroom...

First tooth

This is a week of "first's " in our house. Yesterday Caleb read his first word and today Eli got his first tooth. It is just poking through on the bottom, left side.

Reading

Caleb read his first word today! He sounded it out and figured it out all by himself! I am soooo excited for him! Here's a picture of him with his first word - "PET".

Caleb drew me a heart today on his mini-magna doodle "for Valentine's Day". :)

Eli update

In the last few weeks I have gotten serious about getting Eli on some sort of nap schedule. I have been WORN out going day after day with no schedule and he is worn out because without a schedule he only was napping for 15 minutes at a time. And then only 2 or 3 of those cat naps per day. So, finally last Wednesday things started clicking into place. I would nurse him at 7:30 p.m. and then put him to bed and then wake him in the morning at 7:30 a.m. (waking once during the night to eat) He has been napping two or three times per day ever since. The naps are longer and happen about the same time each day. He also seems to be consistently waking up the same time each morning (7:30) on his own. Phew! A little "free" time during the day is wonderful!!!

Teacher

Caleb: When I grow up I want to be a teacher. Mommy: Who do you know that is a teacher? Caleb: Mrs. Pharris. (preschool teacher) Mommy: Anyone else? Caleb: Mrs. McGimpsey (preschool director/teacher) Mommy: What does daddy do at work? Caleb: I don't know. Mommy: What does daddy DO when he goes to work? Caleb: He teaches kids. Mommy: So, is he a teacher? Caleb: Yeah, he REALLY is!!!

Caleb to Papa when he first saw him this morning: "I had some issues and got a spanking." Oh, man. :)

Superbowl Sunday

We watched today's game with Scott, Jenn, Anna and baby (on the way!) Collins. Caleb and Anna played so well together. At one point Caleb comes out and tells us that Anna is hurt. Jenn goes back to Caleb's room to check on her and Anna is crying because she got hurt and "Caleb wouldn't carry me out there!". How funny, especially considering that Caleb and Anna are the same size!!! Oh, yeah, and the Packers won!!! Yay!!!

Me: "We don't get pizza tonight."

Caleb (teary eyed): "Ohhhh, man. I guess I won't have dinner."
